Membership Individuals: 2,600 PURPOSES AND GOALS: Early Music America serves and strengthens the early-music community in North America - including professionals, amateurs, and enthusiasts - and raises public awareness of early music. To this end, the goals of EMA are to: expand the audience for early music; serve as representative of, and advocate for, the field; provide information, technical assistance, and referral services to professional and amateur musicians and to the public; provide performers, students, and the public with publications to assist their musical activities; enhance and promote education in early music for children and adults; and stimulate increased funding for the field. Description of Membership: Musicians (professional & amateur), students, teachers, scholars, instrument makers, presenters, artist managers, concertgoers. Also, libraries, societies, ensembles, publishers, record companies, retailers.
