PURPOSES AND GOALS: To provide service, advocacy and leadership for a diverse constituency of community-based, non-profit, non-degree granting institutions which offer high quality instruction in the performing arts and visual arts to all persons, regardless of age, aptitude, race or ability to pay. MEMBERSHIP: Individuals: 76 Description of Membership: Institutional membership consists of community schools of the arts located in metropolitan, urban, suburban and rural locations throughout the country. These arts education institutions serve over 500,000 students in 45 states. Business Affiliate membership is open to individuals, organizations and corporations (other than a school) that may be involved in the industry of arts education. Individual membership is open to all persons who wish to keep informed of current developments in the field of community arts education and/or those seeking employment. PUBLICATION(S): Newsletter: Guildnotes Membership DirectorySurveys, Studies, Manuals and Resource Materials (listed in the Guild's Publications Catalog ) Description of Publication(s): Guildnotes is mailed bi-monthly to Institutional, Individual, Business Affiliate members and to selected member school trustees. The Publications Catalog is available upon request. The annual Membership Directory provides a descriptive profile of each member organization with disciplines and programs offered; names of key administrators; school's address, telephone, fax and e-mail.
