PURPOSES AND GOALS: RIAA is a non-profit trade association representing the U. S. sound recording industry. RIAA serves the common interests of recording companies and addresses their needs, worldwide, in the face of evolving technologies. MEMBERSHIP: Corporate: 300 Record Labels Description of Membership: The RIAA membership includes US-based companies engaged in the authorized production and sale of sound recordings for home use under their own label. RIAA member companies today create, manufacture and/or distribute more than 90% of all legitimate recordings produced in the United States .
