PURPOSES AND GOALS: To form chapters of music students and musicians; to uphold highest ideals of musical education; to raise standards of productive musical work of women students of colleges, conservatories and universities; to further the development of music in America and promote a stronger bond of musical interest and understanding between foreign countries and America. MEMBERSHIP: Individuals: 101,700 (Total Initiated Membership); Description of Membership: The SAI membership consists of initiated college women who are music majors, music minors or enrolled in at least one music course with a sincere interest in music; alumnae members, who are active in alumnae or international chapters; patroness'; Distinguished Members: Friends of the Arts, National Arts Associate Members, Honorary Members, and Members Laureate.
